7 Signs You Really Need A Vacay

When’s the last time you took a vacation? If you have to even think about it, then it’s been way too long! If you’re feeling stressed out with work and personal life, it’s time to say buh-bye to your co-workers and all the drama, and say hello to a few days (or weeks!) of unplugged relaxation, preferably on a beach.

Here are 7 signs you need a vacay!

  • You’re Cranky

Like, all the time. If you’re snapping at your co-workers and loved ones and waking up on the wrong side of the bed… every day, it’s time to chill the F out! It’s obvious you’re stressed out and taking it out on others or yourself. Use up those vacation days you have saved up, turn off your phone and relax with a good book. A few days by the pool will do you good! And, as a sweet bonus, you won’t get fired for going off on your co-workers. You need your job so you can buy more plane tickets.

  • Burnt Out AF

Are you working hard but not playing hard? If you find yourself going into the office early and staying late, skipping lunch and working weekends, it’s time to stop, drop and vacay. Burnout can lead to physical and emotional problems, so it’s important to take time for yourself and get away on a regular basis. Don’t just take a weekend off, go to a beach location and then go back to an overwhelming job. Get away as often as you can — whether it’s for a long weekend or a for a longer period. Taking time off will help you be more productive at work!

  • Not Enough Sleep

Just like with being cranky and burnt out, it’s likely that you’re not getting a good night sleep every night with all the stress! Stress makes it hard to unwind at night and fall asleep. Whether you’re not sleeping because you don’t have the time or have way too much stuff on your mind, not sleeping enough is a clear sign that you need to get away and unplug and do absolutely nothing.

  • Too Cold

Let’s face it: this year smacked us in the face with an extreme winter (polar vortex 2019 can go away now, please) and it wasn’t exactly fun. The snow wasn’t fun. The frostbites weren’t fun. Wearing three layers of pants, two coats, and 5 pairs of socks was not fun. Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) is a real thing! We think it’s time for some fun… in the sun! If you’re living in a city where it’s not quite spring weather yet and you’re just done, it’s time to book a flight somewhere warm all year long. Key West, Florida, anyone?

  • Your Personal Life is Taking a Backseat

If you’re canceling plans with friends, skipping date night or aren’t taking any time for your family, then it’s time to take a much-needed vacation to reconnect with your people! You should never be so *busy* that you don’t have time for the important people in your life. When you spend time with the people you care about most, you’ll feel a lot better. Maybe it’s time for a group trip?

  • Your Health is Also Taking a Backseat

Are you skipping the gym after work and going straight to happy hour? And eating way too much fast food for lunch and dinner because you don’t have time to cook? If you find your health is jeopardized both mentally and physically, it’s time to take a break and reclaim your health again. Reset your health with a vacation. Yes, you can be healthy on vacation! • You Look Up Random Flights

If you love to travel like we do, you’re probably daydreaming a lot and looking up random flights when you should be working (ahem…). You’re probably spending hours looking up random flights to anywhere and have alerts from 15 different travel sites setup. Just go ahead and book one of those flights already and stop tormenting yourself!

If you’ve experienced any of the signs above, then it’s a clear sign you need to book it outta here. For the sake of your sanity, go on vacation! You work hard. Now it’s time to play hard… or do absolutely nothing at all. We’re cool with doing nothing, too!
