Why ship luggage within Australia
Jetstar Starter and Virgin Choice fares strip checked bags back to the bare minimum, Qantas pre-paid bag fees climb with every extra and heavier piece, and oversized fees on skis and golf clubs routinely break $100 AUD each way.

How much will it cost to ship luggage within Australia?
We're still finalising launch pricing with our carrier partners, but the model is simple: bag size + weight + route distance + delivery speed = your price. You'll see the full price before you book.
Pricing starts from under $50 AUD (subject to launch pricing). Distance matters, so a short intercity route like Sydney–Melbourne will price below a long-haul route like Sydney–Perth. You'll be able to choose from multiple service speeds to get your bags where you want them, when you want them. We'll publish our per-bag weight ceiling at launch (confirmed with carriers).

Up to our published weight ceiling per bag, above the 23kg most Australian airlines cap at before fees kick in. Final limit confirmed at launch.
Distance
Sydney to Melbourne prices below Sydney to Perth. Longer and cross-water routes can take a little more time.

Depends on the flight. Here's the honest breakdown.
Shipping is the better deal when…
- You're flying Jetstar Starter or Virgin Choice, where checked bags aren't included and per-bag fees climb steeply with size and weight
- You're travelling with sports gear like skis, snowboards, golf clubs, or bikes, where oversized surcharges routinely exceed $100 AUD per direction
- You've got multiple bags. Qantas, Virgin, and Jetstar all price per bag, and second and third bags add up fast
- You're on a long transcontinental flight (Sydney–Perth, Brisbane–Perth) where hauling heavy bags through Sydney domestic or Perth arrivals is real friction
- You'd rather not turn up with a heavy case at a Cairns resort, a Hobart cottage, a Margaret River winery stay, or a remote-WA mine-site rotation

Airline figures are approximate domestic economy fares, prepaid online in advance; airport and gate fees are significantly higher, and overweight, oversized, and sports-equipment items carry additional charges on most carriers. Verify every figure against each carrier's published policy before this page goes live. Qantas raised Additional Baggage fees on 9 June 2026, and Virgin Australia's new baggage policy took effect 2 February 2026. Jetstar fees vary by route.
