Shipping Your Skis to Jackson Hole
Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Fast and reasonably priced
Fast and reasonably priced! I shipped skis and ski gear and it was delivered in just a few days. I highly recommend LugLess!

Shipping skis to Jackson Hole means your ski bag can be waiting at your Teton Village hotel or at the FedEx Office on Broadway in Jackson, so the 20-mile drive from the airport is just you and a carry-on. No loading a ski bag into a taxi, and no ski bag stuck behind a canceled flight. LugLess books FedEx or UPS to carry your skis from drop-off to delivery. This guide covers where to send them and when.
Where Your Skis Go in Jackson Hole (Not the Tram)
You can't ship skis to the Jackson Hole tram or the Teton Village base, but you can ship them to your Teton Village hotel, to a hotel in the town of Jackson, or to the FedEx Office or UPS Store on Broadway in Jackson, and carry them to the lift from there.
Teton Village, where the lifts are, and the town of Jackson are 12.5 miles apart. Decide where you sleep before you ship. A bag sent to the wrong one means a $1 bus ride with a ski bag, or a taxi.
Carrier counters, both in town:
- FedEx Office Print & Ship Center, 160 W Broadway Ave, Suite A. It offers Hold at Location and is the only FedEx location in Jackson Hole.
- The UPS Store, 970 W Broadway, Ste E, open seven days.
Teton Village has no FedEx or UPS counter. If you're staying in the Village, ship to your hotel.
Teton Village hotels: Four Seasons (7680 Granite Loop Rd), Hotel Terra (3335 W Village Dr, with a ski valet), Teton Mountain Lodge (3385 Cody Ln, ski storage through Teton Village Sports), Faraway Jackson Hole (7710 Granite Loop Rd, formerly Snake River Lodge) and Caldera House (3275 W Village Dr). None publishes a package fee, so ask for the package fee and the label format when you book.
Town hotels: Hotel Jackson (120 N Glenwood St), The Cloudveil (112 Center St) and the Rustic Inn (475 N Cache St), which runs a free winter shuttle to Teton Village. Same rule: ask.
Vacation rentals: Jackson Hole Resort Lodging, at 3200 W McCollister Dr in Teton Village, says shipping to its office "may be limited and fees will apply" and that it "is not able to deliver packages to specific properties." If you're in a rental, ship to the FedEx Office in town.
Label and timing: Put the guest name as booked, your arrival date, "Hold for guest" and the street address on the label. Ship to arrive two to three days before you do, and track it.
If you want your skis carried to the hotel ski valet by a courier who hands them over in person, that's our sister service, Luggage Forward. LugLess ships by FedEx and UPS, so your ski bag goes to your hotel, your rental office or a hold-for-pickup counter in Jackson, and you carry it to the lift.

An Airport Inside a National Park
Jackson Hole Airport is "the only commercial airport in the United States located entirely inside a National Park." It became part of Grand Teton in 1950 and runs under stricter noise rules than any other US commercial airport.
JAC is 20 miles and about 36 minutes from the resort. Winter nonstops come from 14 cities, including Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Newark, Salt Lake City, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington Dulles. The resort also lists a new Saturday United flight from Boston in February and March 2027. If you're comparing resorts with big nonstop networks into small airports, see Shipping Your Skis to Steamboat Springs.
Getting from the airport: Ground transport from JAC is taxi, rideshare, shuttle and private car, some by reservation. No fares are published. Book the airport transfer before you fly and tell them how many ski bags.
The START bus: It's free inside Jackson town limits and $1 one way between Jackson and Teton Village on Teton Village Road. Check START's rules for skis.
Driving in: Salt Lake City to Jackson Hole is about 4.5 hours. Pairing this trip with Utah? See Shipping Your Skis to Park City. Teton Pass (WY-22) climbs 2,400 feet from Wilson on some of the steepest highway grades in the continental US, allows no trailers from November 15 to April 1, and closes for storms and avalanche control. On December 22, 2025, a controlled slide left a wall of snow 30 feet high and 500 feet long on the pass.

Airline ski bags: Delta and American each count one ski bag plus one boot bag as a single checked item. Over 50 lb, the overweight fee applies. American waives oversize fees; Delta won't accept an item over 115 linear inches. For United and Alaska, check the current rule.
Why People Bring Their Own Skis Here
Jackson Hole Mountain Resort averages 465 inches of snow, with 4,139 feet of vertical and 2,500 in-bounds acres. The Aerial Tram carries 100 people up the full 4,139 feet in nine minutes, the largest continuous vertical rise of any lift in the US. If you ski your own setup at home, this is a mountain to bring it to.
Snow King, at 402 E Snow King Ave in town, has 500-plus acres and the only night skiing in Jackson Hole. If you're staying in town, you may ski both. Your skis still live in one place, so ship them to where you sleep.
Grand Targhee is 45 miles from Jackson via Teton Pass, about an hour and a half from the airport.

Dates That Move the Calendar for Shipping Skis to Jackson Hole
Jackson Hole opening day is Friday, November 27, 2026, according to SnowBrains' report of the resort announcement. No closing date has been announced.
LugLess advises 5 to 10 business days in winter peaks. Christmas week and Presidents' Day are the two to pad. If your trip lands on one of those weeks, ship at the long end of that range. Count back from the date you want the bag delivered, which should be two to three days before you arrive. A Teton Pass closure is a reason to pad a rental-car arrival too.
How to Ship Skis to Jackson Hole with LugLess
- Pack the bag. Use a padded ski bag or hard case, bindings secured, tips and tails padded. Boots and outerwear can share the bag. (LugLess ski shipping)

FAQs
Can I ship skis to Jackson Hole Mountain Resort or Teton Village?
You can ship to a hotel in Teton Village, but not to the resort base or the tram. Teton Village has no FedEx or UPS counter. Options include Hotel Terra, which has a ski valet, and Teton Mountain Lodge, which offers ski storage through Teton Village Sports. No Teton Village hotel publishes a package fee, so ask for the fee and the label format when you book. Label the bag with the guest name as booked, your arrival date, "Hold for guest" and the street address. From the hotel, you carry the skis to the lift.
Is there a FedEx or UPS Store in Teton Village?
No. Both carrier counters are in the town of Jackson, 12.5 miles from Teton Village. The FedEx Office Print & Ship Center is at 160 W Broadway Ave, Suite A. It offers Hold at Location and is the only FedEx location in Jackson Hole. The UPS Store is at 970 W Broadway, Ste E, and is open seven days. If you're staying in Teton Village, ship to your hotel. If you're in a vacation rental, ship to the FedEx Office and pick the bag up there.
How far is Jackson Hole Airport from the ski resort?
Jackson Hole Airport (JAC) is 20 miles and about 36 minutes from the resort. The airport sits entirely inside Grand Teton National Park, so it's in neither Teton Village nor the town of Jackson. Ground transport is taxi, rideshare, shuttle and private car, some by reservation, and no fares are published. Book your transfer before you fly and tell them how many ski bags you have. If your skis are already at your hotel, the ride is just you and a carry-on.
Should I ship my skis to Jackson or to Teton Village?
Ship them to where you sleep. Teton Village is at the lifts, and the town of Jackson is 12.5 miles away. A bag sent to the wrong place means a $1 START bus ride with a ski bag, or a taxi. If you're in a Teton Village hotel, ship to the hotel. If you're in a town hotel, ship to the hotel or to the FedEx Office or UPS Store on Broadway. Staying in town and skiing the big mountain? The Rustic Inn runs a free winter shuttle to Teton Village.
Can vacation rentals in Jackson Hole receive shipped ski bags?
Check with your rental company first, because the main rental agency won't deliver packages to properties. Jackson Hole Resort Lodging says shipping to its office "may be limited and fees will apply" and that it "is not able to deliver packages to specific properties." If you're in a rental, ship to the FedEx Office at 160 W Broadway in Jackson, which offers Hold at Location, and pick the bag up on your way in. If you booked with another company, ask how it handles packages before you ship.
How much is overnight ski storage at Jackson Hole?
JH Sports ski check-in in Teton Village is $15 a night per pair for personal skis and $5 for rentals. Basket check at the Bridger Center is $20 a day, and day lockers run $10 to $15. Some hotels store skis too: Hotel Terra has a ski valet, and Teton Mountain Lodge offers ski storage through Teton Village Sports. If you're shipping to a town hotel, ask how it stores ski bags before and during your stay.
How early should I ship skis to Jackson Hole?
Plan on 5 to 10 business days in winter peaks, and set delivery for two to three days before you arrive. Christmas week and Presidents' Day are the two to pad. The resort opens Friday, November 27, 2026, so count back from there if you're skiing opening day. Get a quote on the LugLess calculator with your delivery date, then track the bag once it ships.
