Shipping Your Skis to Park City
Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Fast and reasonably priced
Fast and reasonably priced! I shipped skis and ski gear and it was delivered in just a few days. I highly recommend LugLess!

Shipping skis to Park City means you land at SLC, walk past the oversize carousel and can be on Main Street about 40 minutes later, with your skis already in the hotel ski room. You skip the $15-a-piece shuttle surcharge and the ski bag on a rental roof when the Parleys Canyon traction law is posted. LugLess books the FedEx or UPS shipment, and you fly with a carry-on.
Where Your Skis Go in Park City (Not the Lift)
You can't ship skis to the Park City base, Canyons Village or Deer Valley's Snow Park lodge, but you can ship them to your hotel or rental, or to the FedEx Office at 1700 Park Ave or the UPS Store on Iron Horse Drive, both on the free bus routes, and carry them the last stretch to the lift.

Stein Eriksen Lodge (7700 Stein Way), Montage Deer Valley (9100 Marsac Ave) and Hyatt Centric (3551 N Escala Ct, ski valet included in the resort fee) publish no package fee. Ask for the package fee and the label format when you book.

The 35-Minute Drive Is Why You Ship
Everything else about getting to Park City is fast, so the ski bag is the slow part. Salt Lake City to Park City Mountain is about 35 to 38 miles and 35 to 45 minutes on I-80 and SR-224, according to Park City Mountain. Deer Valley is about 38 miles from SLC, per the Deer Valley FAQ.
The SLC to Park City shuttle charges by the piece. Canyon Transportation's shared shuttle is $95 for the first passenger and $40 for each additional, with three bags included and $15 per extra piece. Skis are accepted if you declare them at booking. For a family of four, that's $215 in fares. Add four ski bags and four suitcases, and five of those eight pieces are extras at $15 each, another $75.
UDOT's Traction Law covers I-80 through Parleys Canyon and SR-224 into town. When it's posted, two-wheel-drive cars need three-peak-mountain-snowflake tires or chains, and the Utah Highway Patrol enforces it. A rental sedan with a ski bag on the roof is the wrong car for that day.
In town, Park City Transit and High Valley Transit are fare-free, and you keep your skis with you on board. Both carrier counters above are on the bus.
Airline ski bag fees work like this: Delta, American and Southwest each count one ski bag plus one boot bag as a single checked item. Over 50 lb, the overweight fee applies. American and Southwest waive oversize fees; Delta won't accept an item over 115 linear inches. For United, check the current rule. Driving on from SLC? Two Resorts, One Rule: Deer Valley Is Ski-Only
Is Deer Valley ski only? Yes. The Deer Valley FAQ answers the snowboarding question with: "No. Deer Valley is a ski only resort." Snowboards are not allowed. Alpine, telemark and mono skis are. A mixed group can ship a ski bag and a snowboard bag to the same hotel and split up by mountain.
Park City Mountain has 7,300 acres, 41 lifts, 3,226 feet of vertical and 355 inches of average snowfall. The resort calls itself the largest ski resort in the United States (mountain info).
Deer Valley has 4,500 skiable acres for 2026-27, with Hail Peak adding 200 acres and a new chairlift. Deer Valley East Village adds a 10-passenger gondola and 1,200-plus day parking spaces (Deer Valley expansion). The East Village base lodge opens in 2027-28, and a temporary skier-services building serves this season (KPCW).
Park City ski storage: Park City Mountain's ski valet costs $15 a night for personal skis ($5 for resort rentals), 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at the bottom of Payday Express and at Canyons Village, subject to space. Deer Valley stores one pair per guest overnight for free, up to seven consecutive days, at Snow Park, Silver Lake and East Village.

LugLess advises allowing 5 to 10 business days in winter peaks. Pad the two busiest: Christmas week and Presidents' Day weekend. Count back from your arrival date, aim for delivery two to three days before you get there, and book from that date.

FAQs
Can I ship skis to Park City Mountain or Deer Valley?
Not to the lift base, but you can ship them to your hotel, your rental or a carrier counter in town. Grand Hyatt Deer Valley accepts packages for a published fee. Other hotels, such as Stein Eriksen Lodge and Montage Deer Valley, publish no fee, so ask for the fee and label format when you book. If your rental manager won't accept packages, ship to the FedEx Office at 1700 Park Ave, Suite 105, which offers Hold at Location. Carry the skis the last stretch to the lift, or take them on the free bus.
Is Deer Valley ski-only?
Yes. The Deer Valley FAQ says "Deer Valley is a ski only resort," so snowboards are not allowed. Alpine, telemark and mono skis are. Park City Mountain allows both skis and snowboards, so a mixed group can stay at one hotel and split up by mountain each day. Ship the skis and the snowboard to the same address; see our snowboard shipping page for boards. Deer Valley also stores one pair of skis per guest overnight for free, up to seven consecutive days.
How far is Park City from Salt Lake City airport?
Park City Mountain is about 35 to 38 miles from SLC, a 35 to 45 minute drive on I-80 and SR-224 (getting here). Deer Valley is about 38 miles (Deer Valley FAQ). The route runs through Parleys Canyon, where UDOT's Traction Law requires three-peak-mountain-snowflake tires or chains on two-wheel-drive cars when it's posted. On the shared shuttle, Canyon Transportation charges $15 for each piece beyond the three included bags, so shipping your skis ahead leaves fewer pieces to pay for.
Is there a FedEx Office in Park City?
Yes. The FedEx Office Print & Ship Center is at 1700 Park Ave, Suite 105, and offers Hold at Location. At Kimball Junction, Pack N Crate at 1675 Redstone Center Dr #150 is a FedEx Authorized ShipCenter. For UPS, The UPS Store is at 875 Iron Horse Dr, Ste A, with a second store at 6300 N Sagewood Dr, Ste H, in Kimball Junction. The Park Ave and Iron Horse counters are both on the free bus routes, so you can pick up your ski bag without a car.
How early should I ship my skis to Park City?
Ship so the skis arrive two to three days before you do. In winter peaks, LugLess advises allowing 5 to 10 business days (ski shipping), and Christmas week and Presidents' Day weekend need the most padding. Park City Mountain opens November 20, 2026 (Vail Resorts), so book early-season trips with that date in mind. Put your arrival date and "Hold for guest" on the label so the front desk can match the bag to your booking, and track it until it's delivered.
Does the Park City bus allow skis?
Yes. Park City Transit lets riders keep their skis with them on board, and it's fare-free. High Valley Transit is fare-free too. Both carrier counters in town, the FedEx Office at 1700 Park Ave and The UPS Store at 875 Iron Horse Dr, are on the bus. If you ship to a hold-for-pickup counter, you can collect the ski bag and ride with it to your hotel or toward the lift. You don't need a rental car for that last stretch.
How much does it cost to ship skis to Park City?
Get a quote on the LugLess calculator with your destination, bag count and delivery date. LugLess compares FedEx and UPS rates for your bag. Size matters: Skis go up to 45 lb and Large Skis up to 90 lb (what can I ship). To weigh it against flying with the bag, compare your quote with airline ski bag fees each way, plus any $15 extra-piece charge on the SLC to Park City shuttle. Value protection is optional.
