Need Cheap Trip Ideas for Spring Break? We Got You.

If you’re getting spring fever, we don’t blame you! This wack polar vortex weather has us thinking about a quick (warm!) getaway, too!

Regardless of what you want to do, in whatever climate, prices on flights and accommodation will vary based on your spring break location. To get the best deals, it’s smart to book your vaca ASAP. The longer you wait, the more you’ll pay.

We’ve compiled a list of spring break options that won’t break the bank!

  • Spring Break For Beach Lovers
    Florida Beaches

Florida is a popular spot for spring breakers, no doubt. Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Palm Beach, and Daytona Beach are perfect beach locations to play in the sun and water during the day, then explore bars, restaurants, and nightclubs at night. Whether you’re into parties and late nights or just want to chillax with a good book and some sun, a Florida beach vacation isn’t a bad idea.

    Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina is also another popular location for spring break. It’s the perfect combo of white sand, breathtaking scenery, fun water activities, and nightlife. Take a relaxing stroll on the boardwalk and pop into a few shops while admiring the ocean view. Do a quick search on Priceline and snag hotel rooms for less than $100 a night! Or you can always Airbnb it!

  • Spring Break For Hipsters
    Austin, Texas

Austin has a chill vibe and you’ll fall in love with it! Check out local events going on because there’s always something happening in Austin. There are plenty of options for brunch, visit the Rodeo Austin (in town from March 16-30, 2019), explore Austin’s street art and make sure to walk through 6th street (even if you’re not into the party scene, you have a blast just walking through it)!

    Portland, Oregon

Portland’s slogan is literally, “Keep Portland Weird,” and that, alone, has hipster written all over it. Hang out at Powell’s Books, pop into one of their many vegan-friendly restaurants, and make sure you stop by Voodoo Doughnut (be prepared for a long line)! You’ll be close enough to the beautiful mountains and there are plenty of cool hiking spots to explore.

  • Spring Break For Adventure Seekers
    Ski Trip

Enjoy your spring break with a few days on the slopes skiing, snowboarding or snow tubing! There are plenty of nice, affordable places to visit to get your ski fix. Consider heading to Loveland Ski Area, which is located near Georgetown, Colorado (53 miles west of Denver). You’ll snag a great deal with this ski gem! You can drive up to the ski mountain, rent your ski equipment or ship your skis with LugLess (starting at only $15).

    The Grand Canyon

The Grand Canyon, one of the world’s greatest wonders located in Arizona, is always a popular choice. It’s perfect for spring break because it won’t be overcrowded or too hot. While many people do day trips and only to spend a few hours at the canyon, consider hiking through it (we recommend a guided hiking tour for your own safety). You can also explore camping options if you want something longer than a day trip. If you have limited time, we recommend exploring the South Rim of the canyon where you’ll get the best viewpoints and hiking trails.

  • Spring Break For The Broke Students
    Mini Road Trip

Grab your car and some friends, fill up the tank, and visit a place nearby. For example, if you’re in Chicago, head over to a city in Wisconsin. See what Milwaukee, Lake Geneva or Madison has to offer. No car? Rent a car for cheap. Or you can always snag the $1 fares on Megabus when you book in advance — you can’t bet that! Explore a new town for a few days or just do a day trip. You never know what hidden gems you’ll find in the next town over.

    Staycation

Be a local tourist where you live: go to a museum, try a new restaurant, find cheap activities on Groupon and get a massage! A staycation doesn’t mean staying at home and vegging out with Netflix. You’ll feel a lot better if you leave the house to do something (even if it’s just going for a long walk in a new neighborhood). If you want your staycation experience to feel more authentic, look for cheap hotel deals in your city and stay at a hotel for a night or two. There’s so much to explore right in your own backyard!

Whether you’re planning on escaping the cold, partying till the sun comes up or staying right where you live, spring break can’t come any faster. We know we’re ready! Remember to book ASAP to get the best deals!
